How To Cook Steak Perfectly?

Almost all meat-eaters love to eat a nicely cooked steak and often they don’t get it served just how they like it when dining out in restaurants.

If you follow these simple steps you can cook your piece of steak in the comfort of your own home and just how you like it. But be warned once you do this, you may never order it when dining out again!

Remember whatever the cut of meat, the secret is to cook it in its own juices and slowly.

Marinated is best. I like to use red wine (any type, I’m not a red wine drinker so I usually buy the small bottles, for cooking purpose only)

Utensils

1 x shallow baking dish and some tin foil

Ingredients & seasoning

A preferred cut of steak

Red wine

Fresh or dry Thyme, Oregano, or mixed herbs

Cooking Time & Temperature

Preheat oven to temp 140° / 275F and Gas Mark 1

Method

Firstly place your steak cut in a shallow tray. Season with salt and cracked pepper.

Sprinkle with your chosen dry herbs, or roughly chopped fresh herbs.

Pour 30mls of red wine over your steak. Cover with tin foil and place in the oven for the number of minutes that are shown in the steak guideline below (based upon your tastes).

Serving Suggestions

I like to serve my steak sitting on a bed of fried onions & mushrooms and a side serving of salad or new potatoes.

  • Hi Olive, this is such a great recipe! I just tried it and it came out perfectly.

Normally my partner & I fry or BBQ our steaks but it never comes out quite right, but these ones were soft and moist and didn’t dry out.

I can’t wait to try some of your other recipes.

    • Hi Gigi

Thanks for your feedback, delighted the steaks turned out nicer for you this way, I do believe it is harder to return to alternative ways once you have tasted how succulent the steak cooks in this marinade.

Let me know how you get on if you do try any of the other recipes here.

All the best to you, Olive
